The weekend is upon us and for many of us, that means it’s time to do a little shopping. Yay for retail therapy! But before you head to the malls and department stores, know what you’re looking for. Consider these simple tips we picked up during our chat with entrepreneur, fashionista and model agency owner, Dale Noelle. A few simple tips to keep in mind? Colors that work well with your complexion, seasonal textures and take it easy on the trends.

Be mindful of the colors of the season. Earthy neutrals are in this season, so get into it! “Fashion forecasters have foreseen sage, rose, and ranges of bold colors reflecting landscape (full of blues, browns, greens, and grays) as the colors of the upcoming fall season, Dale explained.”

Choose the colors that pop against your skin. Dale also says never to be afraid to mix and match the colors. “Fall is colorful in itself. Stay festive,” the expert advised. Get a jump on the Spring 2016 season up ahead by checking out the latest Pantone Color Trend Report.

Layer, layer, layer. The season is changing. We may miss the warmer weather, but now we get to rock sweaters, leathers, deep, warm shades and bold prints! “Do not be afraid to layer your clothes as you mix colors. Just always be mindful of styling for your shape,” Noelle advised.

Dale says, “Whatever you decide to wear, do not disguise your body under a plethora of items. Rather, mix and match to create a nicely balanced full ensemble,” she suggested. Instead of piling it all on, try a blouse and an outer jacket with an accessory piece like a belt or a scarf. The great thing about this season is it is the perfect blend of warm and cool. The options are endless!

Wear your confidence. No matter what garment you wear, remember you are carrying it; do not let it carry you. “The most important piece you carry with every outfit will be your confidence. You confidence stays with you through all four seasons and will be consistently striking if exercised daily,” Noelle reminded us.
